Crysis: the series resurges
Everyone knows that you have to take with a pinch of salt what you can read and hear on April 1st, because there is a good chance that the information published on this day of the year will be nothing but jokes. The video game world is no exception to the rule, but some studios take advantage of this day to make real announcements. This year, this was notably the case of the developers of Darkest Dungeon who had announced that they are integrating PvP into the game, which ultimately turned out to be true.
And it seems that Crytek has chosen to do the same. Some attentive observers had indeed noticed that the studio had updated the profile photos of the official Crysis accounts on social networks. The website was also updated on the same date, with the same image, this time animated, which shows the emblematic CryNet nanosuit of the series. But, if we look at the code of the site, we can see the mention "April Fool", suggesting that this is only a joke.
RECEIVING DATA

Hey Nomad, you're still with us?

Well it turns out that it was not an April Fool. The official Crysis Twitter account, which has been inactive since 2016, has recently published two fairly mysterious new tweets. While it has been difficult until now to identify precisely which character this nanosuit belonged to, the owner has been idenfified, and it is no other than Nomad, the main character in the first installment in the Crysis series. There seem to be something in the works, although it is yet to be determined if it is a sequel to Crysis 3 which would stage Nomad, a spin-off, or even a remaster of Crysis. Knowing that Crytek had published last August a video showing the capacities of their CryEngine that showed what looked very strongly like the island of the first installment in the series, most of the hypothesys point to a remaster.
We will still have to wait before knowing more, but one thing is certain, information is flowing and something is happening with the Crysis series.
