Discover standout indie gems in Steam’s Viet Indie Week celebration
When you think of Vietnam, your mind probably goes straight to its incredible cuisine - fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and vibrant dishes. Video games, on the other hand, might not be the first thing that comes to mind. That may start to change, though, as Steam is currently hosting its Viet Indie Week sale, running through May 5.
The event features discounts on more than 100 titles from Vietnam and across Southeast Asia. It also coincides with celebrations like Hung Vuong Festival and Liberation Day, helping bring greater global attention to indie developers from the region.
There’s a wide variety of games included, but a few standouts are worth highlighting. Hoa is a visually stunning puzzle-platformer that blends hand-painted art with a soothing soundtrack. You play as a small spirit exploring lush environments, solving light puzzles, and uncovering a gentle, emotional story. A sequel is already in development, making this a great time to jump in.
If you’re in the mood for something darker, The Scourge offers a first-person horror puzzle experience set in 1990s Saigon. Drawing from local urban legends, it follows a haunting narrative involving a troubled past and supernatural forces. Players must explore eerie environments, solve complex puzzles, and piece together the story while navigating an unsettling atmosphere.
Looking ahead, Just A Shadow Game is an upcoming 2027 release that mixes roguelite deckbuilding with horror RPG elements. With the devil acting as your game master, you’ll craft dark rituals, command undead forces, and battle powerful entities in a grim, strategic experience. There’s already a free demo available on Steam for those who want an early look.
These are just a handful of the titles available, with many more waiting to be discovered. You can browse the full lineup on Steam’s official Viet Indie Week page and support indie creators from the region.
The event runs from April 28 to May 5, 2026, so there’s still time to explore the deals. As always, if you’re looking to get the most value from your gaming budget, be sure to browse our dedicated deals hub for the latest offers.
