Rust will launch on consoles this spring

The fans of Rust have been waiting for it to become available on consoles since the new version of Facepunch Studios' open-world survival multiplayer game was announced a few months ago. We had the opportunity of watching some footage of Rust Console Edition but a few days ago, but the developers have been a bit elusive when it comes to revealing the release date of the game on PlayStation and Xbox. It seems that we are quite close now because following the announcement of the beta that took place last week Facepunch has confirmed that Rust Console Edition will arrive "this spring".

Considering that Rust Console Edition limited beta will take place on March 29, it's not unreasonable to think that the game will become available not too long after that, probably at some time in April. A multitude of players have been trying to survive in Rust on PC since 2013, and the game continues to be in good shape eight years later. It's one of the games most played on Steam, with a peak of almost 250,000 concurrent players and also accumulating millions of viewers on Twitch, where Rust is still quite popular.

Rust currently offers quite a challenging survival experience to the players that dare to venture into its open world and the game has evolved in all aspects until it has become one of the referents in the survival genre. It will be interesting to see how several mechanics in the game have been adapted for its console version. Handling weapon recoil with a controller may be an issue for some players, for example. But we are sure that Rust Console Edition will be at the same level as its PC counterpart, and we will probably give it a try during the beta. Remember to sign up if you want to participate in the event too.
