Nvidia confirms no new hardware at Gamescom 2025
Nvidia plans to host its “GeForce On Community Update” during Gamescom 2025. The event will showcase the latest GeForce features alongside some of the most eagerly anticipated PC games. While Nvidia had confirmed that “no new hardware” would be showcased at this event, gamers still looked forward to updates regarding GeForce Now and Nvidia’s software offerings.
Nvidia emphasized to the public that it wouldn't be rolling out any new graphics cards, clearly stating that "no new hardware" would be introduced at the convention. Given that Nvidia's RTX 50 series GPUs were launched just eight months ago, this announcement wasn’t particularly surprising. The company usually waits about a year or nearly two years after a GPU launch before unveiling new graphics cards, suggesting that we may see official announcements related to the much-hyped RTX 50 series Super refresh in 2026.

It’s probable that we will witness a significant upgrade to Nvidia's GeForce Now cloud gaming datacenter hardware, at minimum an enhancement to the "ultimate" tier featuring Blackwell server GPU technology. Nvidia's primary GeForce Now datacenters are still utilizing generation-old Ada Lovelace GPUs, and the existing "ultimate" plan is still designated as an RTX 4090-class experience. Even DLSS support remains limited to version 3 and has not been upgraded to DLSS 4, despite the fact that Ada Lovelace is capable of supporting some DLSS 4 features.
Further updates enhancing the GeForce Now experience have also been revealed, improving the overall gaming environment on the platform. Since transitioning out of beta, Nvidia has implemented improved refresh rate and resolution capabilities, including support for 4K 240Hz compatibility, as well as additional features like Cloud G-Sync, which allows variable refresh rate support throughout the platform. Upgrading to Blackwell hardware could provide Nvidia with a chance to elevate resolution and particularly refresh rate support even further for its premium customers.
The forthcoming RTX 5080 SUPER is creating a substantial buzz with assurances of improved performance and next-generation features. Yet for those who seek the pinnacle of performance—without compromises—the RTX 5090 is already available and establishing the benchmark. Designed to excel in all tasks, from maximum 4K settings to AI-driven workflows, it's engineered to handle any workload you present.
