Noctua releases its top NH-D15 G2 cooler in an all-black Chromax style

Noctua's top-tier CPU cooler, the NH-D15 G2, is now launched in Chromax Black, delivering excellent cooling performance with a sleek black finish. In addition to this cooler, Noctua has introduced new Chromax Black variants of its NF-A14x25 G2 fans, which come in both square and round frame designs.

Unlike the original NH-D15 G2, the new Chromax Black version does not include LBC (low base convexity) and HBC (high base convexity) options. Noctua has determined that the "standard" base convexity variants of the NH-D15 G2 provide the best results for AMD's AM5 CPU socket and Intel's LGA-1851 CPU socket. Therefore, HBC and LBC versions will not be released as they are deemed unnecessary.

The NH-D15 G2 is equipped with eight heat pipes compared to the six found in its predecessor. It also boasts denser asymmetrical fin stacks designed to offer a 20% increase in surface area for effective heat dissipation. Moreover, the cooler has an offset design that reportedly allows for improved clearance over the top PCIe x16 slot on most current motherboards. 

Completing the NH-D15 G2 are two NF-A14x25r G2 round-frame 140mm PWM fans constructed from Noctua's proprietary Sterrox liquid-crystal polymer (LCP). This material is known for its superior tensile strength and reduced thermal expansion compared to conventional thermoplastics. The fans utilize a Progressive Bend impeller design with a Centrifugal Turbulator hub, winglets, and a tight tip clearance of 0.7mm, leading to enhanced performance-to-noise efficiency relative to the previous generation models.
