Nintendo teases Pokémon Scarlet and Violet expansion

Yesterday's Nintendo Direct left us with a bunch of announcements for Nintendo's hybrid platform. Even though the majority of them were new games, there was also room for novelties regarding games that have been released already. As one of the most important franchises of the Japanese company, Pokémon had to be there, and we could watch brand new footage showcasing the upcoming two-part expansion for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the latest two installments in the popular series.

A bigger Paldea

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1: The Teal Mask and Part 2: The Indigo Disk were announced a few months ago and they will bring new lands to explore alongside new Pokémon to capture and other features. You can watch some of them in the trailer right below.

A total of 230 returning Pokémon will be added to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet with the expansion. These will arrive with new legendary Pokémon too, including Ogerpon and Terapagos, alongside other new Pokémon like Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti, who have protected the land of Kitakami since ancient times. They are capable of weakening their opponent with powerful attacks that can poison them. With all these and more, you definitely won't be short of new creatures to add to your collection. The Mossui Town, the Blueberry Academy, and the undersea Terarium Dome will provide many opportunities for adventure and exploration.

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1: The Teal Mask and Part 2: The Indigo Disk will arrive later this year and you will find them cheap on our comparator ahead of release alongside the best deals on Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Nintendo Switch keys.
