MSI reveals the world’s first 34-inch 360Hz QD-OLED display for gamers
MSI is elevating its OLED monitor technology at CES 2026 with the introduction of the MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36, which promises to offer deeper blacks and clearer text through its "5th gen QD-OLED" technology and "DarkArmor" film.
Thanks to OLED Care 3.0 and the latest QD-OLED panels, MSI is providing a generous 3-year warranty against burn-in for this monitor. Its AI Care Sensor feature allows the display to shut off when idle and reactivate when a user approaches. Moreover, functions like pixel shift, multi-logo detection, taskbar detection, and static-screen detection work to minimize the risk of burn-in. With such a robust burn-in warranty, it appears that concerns about OLED burn-in are largely addressed these days.
Utilizing RGB Stripe OLED sub-pixels, MSI’s MPG 341CQR X36 monitor can produce sharper text without color fringing. This is particularly beneficial for users whose work involves significant text, as clearer text reduces eye strain and enhances the overall experience.
This monitor's new RGB Stripe sub-pixel configuration is designed to produce exceptionally clear text, but it has more features to offer. It reaches a peak brightness of 1300 nits, supports DisplayHDR True Black 500, and provides lower black levels. With a 15% increase in peak brightness compared to earlier models, this display is better equipped to manage ultra-bright content.
MSI claims that its new "DarkArmor" film has improved pure black levels by up to 40%, which significantly enhances contrast. Below, a comparison illustrates the differences between the current QD-OLED and MSI's 5th-gen QD-OLED, showing how much less the bright light source influences the newer OLED panel.
In addition to achieving deeper black levels, this new coating has also increased the screen’s hardness rating from 2H to 3H, making it 2.5 times more resistant to scratches. MSI has not only enhanced the black levels of its latest QD-OLED screens but has also made them more durable.
With a maximum refresh rate of 360 Hz and VESA ClearMR 13000 certification, this OLED display provides remarkable motion clarity and responsiveness. It also supports DisplayPort 2.1, two HDMI 2.1 connections, and USB Type-C inputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of modern devices. Furthermore, its USB Type-C port can output up to 98 watts of power to connected devices, which is excellent news for laptop users.
