Intel's Nova Lake processor unveiled
On January 21, the account @x86deadandback on the X platform revealed that traces of Intel's next-generation Nova Lake CPUs have appeared in shipping lists, indicating steady progress in its development.
Intel has provided minimal information about Nova Lake, but it is anticipated to launch in 2026. It is believed that Nova Lake will take the place of Panther Lake for mobile platforms and Arrow Lake for desktop options (assuming there isn't a subsequent desktop launch after the Core Ultra 200S series).
According to the shipping records, Intel is currently testing its next-generation consumer CPU platform, named Nova Lake. The first chip in this lineup was sent to Intel's laboratories in December 2024 for advanced testing. The Intel Nova Lake CPU series is expected to follow Panther Lake—set to debut later this year—and may be introduced in 2026.

Rumors suggest that Nova Lake could utilize two new CPU core architectures, codenamed Coyote Cove and Arctic Wolf, although the accuracy of this information has yet to be confirmed. Nova Lake holds significant importance as it is the only officially announced desktop CPU architecture following Arrow Lake. Meanwhile, Panther Lake is not aimed at desktop platforms but is instead focused entirely on mobile devices and laptops. It remains unclear whether Intel will continue using the LGA1851 platform or develop a completely new platform.

Speculation suggests that the Nova Lake series may utilize either the Intel 14A or TSMC 2nm process node, although Intel might consider outsourcing certain tiles or chips to TSMC, following the approach taken with Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake. One confirmed detail about Nova Lake is that, similar to Panther Lake, it will not incorporate on-package memory, which means Lunar Lake will remain the only processor featuring this design for the foreseeable future.
