AMD launches Ryzen PRO 9000 Series with 3D V-Cache for workstations
AMD is extending its existing lineup of Ryzen 9000 Pro models with six new processors, including some armed with 3D-VCache technology. The highlight of the lineup is the Ryzen 9 Pro 9965X3D, armed with up to 144MB of cache, and the Ryzen 7 Pro 9755X3D boasting 104MB of L3 cache.
Marking a first for the Pro-series, these two models integrate 3D-VCache technology. This additional cache layer is designed to boost performance in professional, cache-heavy tasks like 3D rendering and video encoding, while the core specifications remain largely the same as the standard consumer versions.
The Ryzen 9 Pro 9965X3D features 16 cores, 32 threads, boost clocks up to 5.5GHz, a 4.3GHz base clock, 144MB of combined cache, and a 170W TDP. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 7 Pro 9755X3D includes 8 cores, 16 threads, boost speeds up to 5.2GHz, a 4.7GHz base clock, 104MB of cache, and a 120W TDP.
The rest of the lineup consists of traditional (non-X3D) parts, featuring a mix of 6, 8, 12, and 16-core parts. AMD is also offering multiple TDP variants for almost all of these non-X3D models, to better fit OEMs with systems that can handle higher TDPs.

As part of AMD’s Pro lineup, these processors are intended exclusively for OEM systems and are not sold separately to consumers. They also include additional enterprise-focused technologies such as Shadow Stack and Memory Guard, features that are either unavailable or not officially supported on standard consumer Ryzen processors.
Ryzen PRO 9000 Series devices are set to debut in the latter half of 2026, with Lenovo poised to showcase these new processors in its ThinkStation P4 at the NXTBLD event. While AMD has scheduled the Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D launch for July 15, 2026, Lenovo claims its ThinkStation P4 systems will be ready a month prior to that date.
For those unfamiliar with the lineup, AMD originally launched the Ryzen 9000 Pro series with just three 65W models: the Ryzen PRO 9945, 9745, and 9645. The newly introduced processors expand the range with higher-power variants, giving AMD a stronger PRO-tier offering for workstation systems that require additional performance.
