ASUS hints at an upgraded multi-display ROG Duo laptop for CES 2026
It seems that ASUS is broadening its Duo product line at CES 2025, introducing it to the ROG category for the very first time. That’s right, a gaming-focused ASUS Duo device is on the way, and we should see it unveiled this month.
According to the teaser provided, ASUS is set to introduce a dual-screen device that can function in various orientations. This device can operate as a typical laptop, a single-screen tablet, or a dual-screen desktop/workstation. Details regarding the type of screen it will utilize or the specifications of its CPUs and GPUs remain unclear.
Asus has previously launched a dual-screen gaming laptop called the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15, which featured a main display alongside an additional panel positioned above the keyboard for supplementary applications while keeping the game in focus.
On the non-gaming front, Asus has also experimented with this concept in the Zenbook Duo (2024), and it has taken a different approach with the Zenbook Fold 17, which relies entirely on a single flexible panel rather than two distinct screens. Regardless of personal opinions on the execution, Asus continually bets on the idea that increased screen real estate alters laptop usage.
At this point, it remains unclear how powerful this new ROG Duo laptop will be as a gaming device. Intel’s Panther Lake CPUs may offer a robust integrated graphics solution. Nevertheless, there’s a possibility that this model could include a discrete graphics card from Nvidia’s RTX 50 series. If that’s not the case, it should be compatible with ASUS’ external GPU options, such as the ROG XG Mobile.
Conversely, if you’re looking for a handheld device that is well-established, finely tuned for top-tier performance, and crafted for serious gaming on the go, the ROG Ally emerges as an exceptional choice. With its long-lasting battery life, enhanced ergonomics, and complete Windows functionality, it exemplifies the aspirations for future handheld gaming.
