The next installment of the Gears of War series, called Gears 5, will be released on PC and Xbox One on September 10th. In this new title, you will play Corporal Kait Diaz, who tries to discover the origins of Locust and her family during a trip to the planet Sera. The story of this solo campaign is a direct follow-up to Gears of War 4 events. But that's not all Gears 5 has to offer. It will also feature several multiplayer game modes, including Versus and Horde, and even a new cooperative mode, Escape, in which three players will cooperate to escape from a building invaded by a toxic cloud while facing enemies on their way out. It will also include a map editor so you can create your own levels and share them.
If you expected to be able to test this new mode of Gears 5 during this beta you will be a bit disappointed because it will not be in the program. This beta, bearing the sweet name of Versus Tech Test, will have PvP in the spotlight. Arcade, Escalation,, and King of the Hill modes are waiting for you in District and Training Grounds. Two new features will also be on the test bench: Bootcamp, which is similar to a training mode; and Tour of Duty, which will take you through challenges to unlock an exclusive weapon skin and banner. Two sessions of the Versus Tech Test of Gears 5 will take place, and the first begins tomorrow at 19h CEST, and it will last until Sunday, July 21. The second one will be held Friday, July 26 at 19h CEST through Monday, July 29. To participate you need an Xbox Game Pass subscription so you can play on Xbox One or PC. You will find the beta directly in the list of available games. The other way to participate is to pre-order the game and use the code that should have been provided to you. You will, of course, need an internet connection, the Versus Tech Test is a multiplayer test after all.
