Wrestling games have evolved quite a bit in recent years. What were at one time mindless button mashers have become games that actually feel like wrestling matches. With counters, meters to build up strength, and of course, very realistic looking wrestlers. However, for the last few years (and a whole console generation) WWE games haven’t appeared on Nintendo consoles. Well, that’s all about to change in a big way.
WWE 2k18 was announced a little while back, including showing off the cover athlete in Seth (freakin) Rollins. It was only announced for Xbox One, PS4, and PC though. But then they decided to do this…

Yep, it’s official, WWE 2k18 is coming to the Nintendo Switch, following the lead of NBA 2K18 which is also coming to Nintendo Switch. It’s very refreshing to hear that Seth (freakin) Rollins is an avid Nintendo fan and gamer himself, and is very excited with the prospect of being able to play the game on the go no matter where he is.
Now, the video didn’t reveal much in range of details, however, 2K did a press release alongside the video that confirmed some things. First off, the game will release alongside the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game on October 17th. Second, all the new features that are in the other versions WILL be in the Nintendo Switch version, including the new rendering engine for the game.
The only thing that isn’t known is whether a Deluxe Edition of the game will be coming to Switch.
