Ubisoft have announced today that the first free update of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Year 2, entitled Operation Velvet Shell, is available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Those who have access to the Year 2 pass will receive two new operators from the Spanish Counter Terrorist Unit, accompanied by their unique signature weapons skins.
Operation Velvet Shell tasks players in assuming the role of two Spanish operators from the Grupo Especial de Operaciones, in order to regain control of the coastline of Ibiza. One operator Mira has more than proven her tactical aptitude, showing traits of strength and endurance during tactical situations, often showcasing her technical expertise with creating nearly indestructible Black Mirrors. Jackal meanwhile uses his own expert tactics to track down high value targets with the use of G.E.O.s. Wielding C7E and PDW9 as his primary weapons, Jackal can track enemy footprints with the use of his Eyenox Model III headset. The fresher the prints, the hotter they appear in his line of vision.
The team behind the game are working hard to bringing more dynamic content with Year 2 for Rainbow Six Siege, as creative director Xavier Marquis explains: “We are working hard on ensuring the game’s longevity. We are here to stay so want to make sure that you’re getting comfortable”.
