The legendary games label Team17 along with developer Mouldy Toof have today revealed more content coming to the upcoming sequel The Escapists 2. The new trailer, which can be found below, showcases a brand new western themed area known as Rattlesnake Springs, which will be coming to the game when it releases sometime in 2017.
As for The Escapists 2, the follow up to the original game offers a new drop in/drop out feature, allowing for multiplayer and split-screen gameplay for the first time, which will be available for up to four players in both versus and co-operative modes. There will also be new methods for you to make your escape, using tied together knotted sheets to climb down multi-level prisons that have been introduced in this highly anticipated sequel.
This new game is set to bring much more to the mess hall table, with new items to craft such as tasers, an overhaul of the combat system which introduces lock-on targeting and blocking, and even the ability to alternate between light and heavy attacks. Bask in the all-new graphical style that gives the game an fresh look whilst staying true to its predecessor. Plus, make the experience even more personal, with more characterization options than ever before, and additional activities such as painting, joining a band and much more.
The Escapists 2 is set for release this year on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. In the meantime, the original game The Escapists is worth checking out before its time to check into what the sequel has to offer.
