Farpoint Dev Talks Combat And Playing With A Friend

Farpoint

Farpoint is a title that is coming to the PSVR and one that is being developed solely for it. In a way, it’s the perfect game to put on the PSVR, especially with the Aim Controller that’ll be needed to play the game, for as an FPS, your vision will be yours truly, and as FPS games are very popular, it won’t be odd that you can only see what your eyes see.

For the team, it wasn’t just about delivering an experience that felt natural and true, they wanted to create something unique in terms of both combat, and playing with another player. Farpoint allows for co-op play, and you’ll actually be able to view the other player as they traverse the world with you. Furthermore, how you see their character is an indication of what they are doing in the game.

“Body language is now a practical method of communication, instead of pressing a button for a pre-made emote. In the heat of combat, these simple gestures go a long way,” said Ryan Clements Senior Specialist, SIEA Social Media.

These levels are made for cooperative play, and you can even revive your teammate should they fall, making the desire to work together even more necessary.

Adding to the uniqueness of it all, you can actually rest in stations with your teammate so you can stock up on supplies, and prepare for the fight that is to come.

Detail and precision are what the Farpoint team are going for here, and it appears they are well on their way to making one of the must-have VR titles on the market. Farpoint releases on PSVR on May 16th.
